Plex “Live tv” does not show up as an option for any managed user, even though live tv is enabled for my home users; this is true regardless of device (pc [even from admin console], roku devices, roku tv, android tablet/phone). Interestingly enough, the admin user can see Live TV on the list if on a Roku device or logged in with Firefox, but not Chrome. Additionally, when adding content to ‘pinned’ the “Plex” option is not even available for managed users to add “live tv”. Please advise.
Yes, I have the same issue where if I go to plex.tv, there’s no option for the LiveTV & DVR. If I open up the localhost address, 127.0.0.1/(whatever port I chose in Setttings), then I have the option and can watch live tv. My question is, does that mean that when I watch something through plex.tv at home, then it’s going over the internet instead of directly to the device?
I have the same issue. No I’m not dumb if I go to other no live tv. If I select my main user in the user chooser screen live tv exists. If I choose another user there is no live tv. I have read the guides and are incorrectly describing. For example on a web browser choosing main user then user account gets you option for online media sources configuration. If you switch to another user online media sources does not even exist in the menu. Seems like plex screwed the pooch on this one. This is very frustrating. When I heard about live tv months ago I tried to make it work without success. Now I am trying again with the same results. At the end of the day I guess plex misses out on ad revenue. I would like the ability to stay in plex instead of switching apps all the time but guess I’ll have to continue app switching. Also I tried adding all libraries to the other user and did not fix it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. On a side note I have had my plex server running for probably 10+ years so who knows if I have some legacy issue.
