an existing episode of a series is recorded again and created in the same folder and with the same name with (copy).
The series was not recorded but manually copied to the media library.
@FabiaDarkblue It’s always best to have a separate library for your DVR recordings than your other media that you’ve got from other sources.
Do you have the “Replace lower resolution items” option enabled?
If so, it may be (correctly or not), identifying the existing items as being lower resolution and recording the episodes anyway.
That is not how plex names files. Are you positive this was the Plex version?
I’ve now tried it with the Plex app (yes it’s the official one) on my Synology NAS. Same misconduct.
Please reproduce and provide the server logs. It should indicate what filename it is using.
