Is there anyway to record all episodes even old ones but ONLY if they are not already in my library. I’ve got Be Cool Scooby Doo recording (for the kids of course) and i’ve got like 2-5 copies of every episode… 
Are your other episodes included in the library new recordings are going to?
I have Curious George set to record all episodes for some friends kids. If the episode is already in my library it is not recorded again, unless it is a higher resolution than what I already have. I had an issue when I first started using Plex where my recording library was not the same as my TV Show library and all epiosdes were being recorded whether I had them already or not. Once I made the change to store new recordings in the same library haven’t seen duplicate shows recorded. NOTE: do not set any of the “Keep” or “Delete” options on the recordings, it will change the library options and previously recorded content might be deleted.
My library is the same recorded to as stored. I just noticed I’m experiencing this problem as well. For a few series I have I see that I’ve now recorded every episode in the entire series six times or more.
Also there seems to be a problem with recording duplicates of shows that are lacking season/episode data.
I just checked and I already have all “Wild New Zealand” recorded, about 9x each episode, which is the current in progress recording. Then if you look at later tonight and tomorrow there’s highlighted recordings, ones with play buttons indicating I already have them. The “Savage Kingdom” at 6-7am it looks like I do not have, so I don’t know why it is highlighted.
Follow up: Actually if you look at the highlighted episodes the time itself is duplicated as well. The episodes show up twice in the schedule.
I’m having the same issue with duplicate episode recordings filling up the drive and having to manually go thru and delete copies. Any suggestions for only recording/saving if the episode is not already in the library? My DVR library is the same as the Television library.
Same issue. Files are stored in the same directory as they were recorded, no post-processing. Some shows have this problem, others don’t. I can’t figure out a rhyme or reason. I do have “replace lower resolution” checked on all my recordings, but these duplicate episodes are coming from the same station in the same resolution. I didn’t notice this happening until the recent EPG changes. This is very annoying as I don’t have time to micro-manage my library and check all my shows for duplicates, etc.
Still recording dupes for a few programs.

It’s not just obscure recordings, rick and morty is pretty mainstream nowadays. The common denominator here is shows that only have air date and not S/E data.
The red bull and mountain biking episodes are erroneously marked new.

This bug is STILL an issue as Dec. 24, 2019 on PMS version 1.18.3.2129 (FreeBSD). Common, Plex… please fix this!
