Live TV DVB-S Tuner

I see there is added support for new tuners. I probably know the answer to this but going to ask anyway.

All the compatible tuners from Hauppauge are either DVB-T/T2 or C. Is it that the DVB-S/S2 tuners aren’t compatible or just that they’re not listed as they’re not popular in the states or wherever the developers live.

For instance would this tuner work? http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_novahdusb2.html

I know Plex don’t tend to let us know whats coming up or what’s being worked on and I understand this to some extent however I’d would love support for DVB-s just wondering what direction to go.

Oh that would be fantastic - got DVB-S/S2 here via a SAT>IP box so would LOVE to use that for live TV.

Happy to buy a DVB-S/S2 card to fit in server if SAT>IP not an option

The developers actually live all over the world! DVB-S isn’t currently supported, but support for more tuners is being looked into.

+1 for SAT>IP
I’m using an HDHomeRun at the moment, but my aerial reception isn’t as good as my sat reception

+1 for sat>ip

Have an 8 channel sat ip server for dvbs2 currently going into dvblink (which doesn’t work with plex any more) that i have to use with kodi. Be great to just use Plex for everything… Guide should not be an issue as its normally just its normally cloned from dvbt anyway?

DVB-S and of course SAT>IP device support would be fantastic.

+1 Looking for the same thing using Hauppauge WinTV HVR-5525 (supported natively in Linux Kernel 4.1+)
