I see that a couple of Hauppauge tuners are now supported. Wondering if something like Hauppauge WinTV HVR-5525 would work for Freesat (DVB-S/S2).
The reason for asking is that in Ireland, we don’t get UK freeview channels unless using satellite.
If the tuner is supported by OS, would Freesat DVB-S/S2 signals be recognised by Plex? The tuner outputs MPEG-2 video.
I’m sure there are other similar tuners out there.

Same question from me, currently I have the cable from my old Sky satellite dish connected to my Sony TV and I can watch Freesat channels that way, but it would be great to have it integrated into my Plex server.

DVB-S isn’t currently supported, but Plex is looking into adding support for more tuners.

The above-mentioned tuner is natively supported by Linux Kernel 4.1+ and very similar to other WinTV tuners in that it produces MPEG-2 output.
Had a look around and apparently if you are running tvheadend on Linux then you can use a proxy to connect your USB satellite tuner to Plex DVR / Live TV.
I’ve experience with tvheadend from my XBMC days but I don’t run Linux anywhere anymore so at this point I couldn’t be arsed getting all that setup.

Might give it a try as Plex and the library of Linux ISOs is hosted on Ubuntu, running everything in Docker containers. The good folks at linuxserver.io maintain a tvheadend container 
I run this setup on my Synology nas drive with a dvb sat freesat setup (and hdhomerun for Freeview), it’s slower on channel changes but seems to work ok
Wonder if there is anymore thoughts on Plex supporting dvb-s tuners from the likes of Hauppauge etc? It would complete the Plex live TV set up for us folks in Ireland that have only a handful of terrestrial channels.

I am also in Ireland and I am looking at the HaupPauge WinTV-HVR-5525 which has both satellite and terrestrial receivers so I can get the OTA Irish channels and Free-to-air UK satellite channels.
Any update or comment on whether it is on the current backlog to look at adding soon would be greatly appreciated.
