Hello so I’ve an enigma2 box set up with hrtunerproxy , the channels on Plex don’t show up in 16:9 but 4:3 is there any way to change this
Plex typically pipes whatever signal it’s being sent by the tuner… On my HDHomeRun connect Duo, it sends 16:9 when viewing an HD Source, and it sends 4:3 when the tv station is broadcasting in SD 4:3. There is not a way within Plex to “correct” this. It’s all dependent on what signal its receiving from your tuner device as far as I know.
Aspect Ratio Murder is a by-product of processed foods and lead in our water. Back in the ‘Clean Old Days’ the thought would have never occurred - to anyone…lol
I’ve hd videos that don’t play in 16:9 , how come the work perfectly on the hdhomerun app itself tho thats what I don’t get
I have no idea man. All of my HD Content plays in an HD format (either 1.85:1, 2.35:1, or 2.5:1) except for things like my Star Trek The Next Generations which is in HD but is displayed in 4:3, there are still 1080 vertical lines of resolution though. But that’s because it was shot in 4:3 and not in one of the popular widescreen formats.
It is not unheard of for HDHR to do something ignernt - if you’re having it alter the raw recordings in ANY way. Also, Plex-DVR novice here, but if you have Plex alter the raw recording in ANY way while it’s being recorded - something ignernt could be happening.
There’s also a chance the station broadcasting said nonsense could be run by untrained marsupials, the product they’re delivering is unable to be handled well by anyone.
I’d be interested to see the XML data of one of these misbehaving files.
