Live TV DVR option not displaying...

Live TV & DVR in settings is not displayed as an option in the drop down menu. Does this mean it’s not compatible or something, my Apple TV is not through a satilight dish, just a over the aithd antenna. Does anyone know what’s going on? *Over the air

Apple TV is not (yet?) a supported device.

Which apps let me watch “Live TV”?

Live TV is currently supported on the following Plex apps:

...
Apple TV
...

I’ve had an HDHomerun on my network for a year.

Plex has been recording it for a YEAR.

But for some reason, every time there’s a “yay! Everyone can watch live TV!” it’s everyone but me.

There’s no DVR setting anywhere in my settings. Recordings? You bet. I can totally schedule them. Program guide? I haz that. And I can record the crap out of stuff… but for a YEAR I can’t watch anything live. I can’t even configure my DVR anywhere, despite the fact that Plex has been all friendly with it for a YEAR.

This is like how you can sync music with Plex but you can’t get it to play a song all the way through. Half-baked and useless in all things.

I also haven’t got the option in my windows server for my users. I have plex media server Version 1.10.1.4602

Does i have to enable some other things?

Also on the latest update 4633 still not available

@kleinbl00 sounds like you need to start your own thread and provide more information. What you provided makes no sense. If you have DVR configured and recording for over a year and have a Program Guide you should have Live TV if you are using a suppported client. Your other comment about not being able to configure it anywhere also needs more informarion since it sounds like it has already been configured since it has been recording for over a year.

Sorry, my quick check missed that, guess I focused on DVR scheduling/management which doesn’t mention it yet.
Is your server signed into Plex, is your Apple TV signed into plex? Are they both signed into Plex using the primary Plex pass user account? (Presume yes to all previous questions, but asking anyway)
If signed in, tried signing out of both, then signing server in, then the ATV?

When you say not in the drop down menu, do you mean on the server? (I have a Windows plex server, there is no ‘drop down’. It’s a menu option on the left side of the server settings menu, that you then use to connect the plex server to the tuner.
What type of tuner do you have. Does it work / is it seen on other Plex clients in your household?
If not appearing on your server, what type of Plex server do you have?

Why? To what end? Every time this comes up, it’s “me too” or “your device is not supported yet” or “we’re looking into it” and at the end of the day, nobody at Plex cares. Nobody at Plex can be bothered. It’s “wait until someone on the forums insults you and tells you why you’re asking too much of a service you paid $100 for.”

I can record. I have recorded. I have a program guide. I can click on a program and record it forever. This is how I ended up with the entire Lucas off-road racing series - I recorded it once and I have it all.

I can click on the program guide. I get a big red record button.

I have a sidebar. You’re right - it’s not a dropdown, so clearly I’m an incompetent buffoon.

What kind of tuner? A Silicondust HD Homerun Connect. It reports

Model: HDHR4-2US
Device ID: 1042C7D0
Firmware: 20161117

And is visible all over the network.

But support? Yeah, no support. Go to the forums and be told that it’s obviously your fault.

kinda like how it won’t play a song all the way through on any Android phone. Kinda like how it will no longer Chromecast video of any kind. It’s probably a moral failing of mine.

@kleinbl00 the reason I asked about creating your own thread is it seemed your issue was different than the OP of this thread and you were just jumping into this thread with some other issue. If you don’t feel like starting your own thread so we can address your issue I will be more than happy to move your posts to a different thread so we can have a discussion about your issue. Before I do that though, since you have had Plex DVR running for over a year and recordings are working perhaps we start with what Plex Media Server version you are running since you did not include those details.

Besides wanting to be combative with the way you ask for help and expect good answers, the only help I’ll give right now is that you’re on an old HDHR firmware version. Will that fix your issue? I’ve no clue, but considering you’re 4-5 versions behind I doubt it could hurt, considering Plex Live TV is beta and many of it’s pages recommend keeping up to date with the HDHR firmware.
