Live TV EPG refreshes and returns to top of channel list when advancing time?

Server Version#: 1.23.1.4602
Player Version#: 4.57.4
Running on Synology NAS DS418play

Just updated to the new versions of the Plex server and it looks like a bunch of new changes have rolled out for the DVR / LiveTV interface.

However, I’m finding there to be one very annoying new issue. If I’m logged on via web browser and I try to scroll ahead in time to see what’s playing in the EPG, every time I click the arrow to advance the time on the EPG, the whole epg refreshes at the new time and it returns to the first channel in the list. So if I’m trying to see what’s playing on a channel that is 2 or 3 pages down, I have to rescroll down to find the channel.

I’ve never noticed this to be a problem before. I haven’t tested this on my AppleTV yet, but it’s definitely happening in the browser.

Anyone else observing this?

Hi,

My server is on a QNAP, but I am seeing this as well in the browser but not Plex for Mac which is using an older version of the Web client.

Plex for Mac is 4.56.4
Plex Web is 4.57.4

[edited for typos]

I have also seen this problem. Logging into plex directly on my local servers IP seems to circumvent it.

Yes, I am seeing the exact same behavior with my Plex Install.

Very annoying actually, because any time you want to scroll the timeline in the LiveTV/DVR Guide page to a later time, it redraws the guide with the lowest channel as the first line, making it necessary to scroll down to see the channel you were looking at.

I am using an updated Chrome Browser as a viewer and:

  • Server Version 1.23.1.4602
  • Plex Web Version 4.57.4

Running on Unraid, Docker linuxserver/plex

If there is any more information I can provide to help fix this, please let me know.

Logging directly into the Plex server by it’s Local LAN IP address has no effect for me. That’s actually how I access it >90% of the time

Have installed the Windows Plex App (which I have never bothered using until now) and the problem is not present there. So this seems to be tied to the web client.

EDIT:updated to add notes about testing Windows Plex app

Yes, I am having the exact same issue on the web client. Very, very frustrating. Scroll down to see what is on channel 200, click right to advance time, the page refreshes and take me all the way back to Channel 2 so have to scroll all the way back down. Never did this before.

I have the same issue.
Plex Server Version 1.23.2.4656 running on a Synology NAS
Plex Web Version 4.57.4
Please fix it as soon as possible, as this is extremely annoying, thx.

Seeing the same issue in Plex Web Version 4.57.4.

This appears to be fixed now in latest update. Working fine for me.

I think the bold line (bolding is mine) is the fix you are referring to.

NEW:

  • Updated Live TV settings page UI to improve color contrast
  • Updated fonts to a lighter version for better consistency between apps

I’m not seeing this update pushed out for Synology yet. Is this in pre-release?

@JCHH where are you getting that changelog from? I can’t seem to find it anywhere?

EDIT: Nevermind I found it in the Plex For Web section of announcements. If I access my Plex via Plex for Web I get the new version of the web player. However, when I access my plex server using my local lan IP address, it is still getting the old Web Player which makes me think the last server update did NOT include the updated Web Player.

@chrishoage - when will we see the Plex Web client packaged into the media server and updated/released so we can get the new 4.58.1 client for locally accessing our plex servers?

correct. PMS has not yet been updated to include the latest version of Plex Web.
