I’ve noticed over the last week or so that when watching a Live TV channel with the web player (i.e. https://app.plex.tv/desktop), when the show ends, it jumps back to the beginning of the just watched show instead of just continuing to the next program on that same station. For example, if I’m watching a show from 7am-7:30am, when the show is over at 7:30a, the player just jumps back to the start (7a) of the already watched show. It is expected that the next show at 7:30a should start playing.
This is something that just started happening; it previously worked as expected.
I think there may also be a related live tv issue when trying to watch a currently recording show from the beginning vs live, I no longer see that prompt.
I’ve had this happen and also saw reports from 3 other users.
I’ve done some tests. This seems to be completely related to an event related to the EPG switching episodes. If i spoof the xmltv to hide the episodes from plex, it plays the whole stream normally without looping back to the first episode.
Same problem here. PMS running on Windows 10 PC. I have also had it jump back randomly in the middle of a show as well. I did not see any logs posted here but I do see it was confirmed as a bug. I have a log from earlier in the week when this happened between shows if you need it.

Yes, we are missing the beginning of every show at the top of the hour. It keeps replaying the end of the previous program. Can’t move to the next program and it isn’t recorded by Live TV, so we miss the start of the next program. Very frustrating… LiveTV + DVR is the whole reason we are paying the Plex subscription every month! It all started with the Server Version 1.20.1.3252 update. I guess I will try to downgrade until this gets fixed.
Noticed the same thing also, browsers and the windows plex app. Activity also showing weird things, when I am watching live tv it outlines some library scan media.
No news here! It really sucks right now. I think after this get fixed it will be my last update for a long time. Things not getting fixed and others broken thats just not quality.
It is obvious that the developers are not professionals but again and again they still manage to hit a new lows.
Yes, LIVE TV & DVR has become completelyuseless for us. I tried downgrading to the previous server version that was working before AND installing the latest beta of Plex server (for Linux). It’s still restarting the previous program when the new program begins, (and it does it in “fits and starts”).It no longer lets us watch from the live TV recording before the current time and it gets completely lost when you rewind or FF within the current program. We have even see a big, low resolution “Plex TV” graphic come up briefly in the viewer when it bombs What’s going on?! We are watching on the Web player. Could that be the problem? Also, Ubuntu recently released a new version of Linux TV (Linux Kernel Media Subsystems). Could that be the problem? I have Plex Pass subscription for Live TV and it simply doesn’t work for us anymore. HELP! (I will gladly provide all platform and version information if anyone cares). Thanks.
