I am having this same issue on Mac running Plex Media Server and HDHomeRun Connect Quattro. If I connect from localhost Mac I can view the channels. If I connect from another computer via browser and the direct private IP of Mac I can view the channels but the minute I use an app on a TV, fire stick, xbox, computer or the web via app.plex.tv and try logging in I get the dreaded "Playback Error, Could not tune channel (No activity).
I am on latest versions of Plex and firmware for HDHomeRun.
Please note that this all worked a few days ago without problems. I have reinstalled about 100 times, cleaning out all config files and still not working. Movies and TV Shows work perfectly without the same issue.
I can report the same issue. Live TV does not playback in Plex Web when server is running on a Synology NAS. The Windows x64 client and Android clients are unaffected. I am unable to locate a setting that would allow disabling transcoding for Plex Web clients viewing Live TV. Help!

I have Plex runnun on the latest version of the PR4100, with HDHomeRun, some channels play fine, and some donât, all of them play on the HDHomeRun app on iPhone, but on Plex I get the error.

Be aware that if you run your Plex Media Server on a low-powered NAS device that doesnât support transcoding, many apps will be unable to play recorded content. Over the air broadcasts are often in MPEG2 or other older formats, which few devices or apps can play directly (and would thus require transcoding in those cases).
