Same issue. I updated to latest server 3-10-2020 and similar problem. Live TV ends with:
“Playback Error
Source is unavailable”
Synology NAS DS1019+
SiliconDust HDHomeRun Duo
I’ll post a log as soon as I figure out how to find it.
Log FilePlex Media Server.log (84.8 KB)
Logs should be Debug checked, Verbose unchecked.
Use the easy mode to grab the logs using a browser on the computer.
Thanks, already done.
I think I did everything? Just waiting? or do I need to do anything else?
Your logs were in VERBOSE mode which is overkill, uncheck that option.
You should also gather after a set sequence.
- Restart Plex
- Recreate issue
- Wait 3 minutes and download logs.
What I can deduce, this is a DS414 which really doesn’t have enough CPU for live tv except, maybe if the client can direct play MPEG2 stream. Web browsers are definitely out.
mine are not. Max_dehaven may be. Could you please check again? Regardless I posted more logs Plex Media Server Logs_2020-03-17_22-22-27.zip (4.4 MB)
@mark_cliftonfamily_us , your logs are still in verbose mode.
Is the problem all channels or specific ones? There was a repack on 3/13 and you may need to rescan your channels on the HDHR, not with Plex. http://my.hdhomerun.com/#tab-2 should show your equipment.
I just got the I just got Plex 3 pass weeks ago. The only think left is Live TV and the DVR. The logs could help? And a have reset it up multiple times. I even got the latest updatePlex Media Server Logs_2020-03-18_17-55-53.zip (3.9 MB) It shouldn’t be
That is the Player settings, need the server settings.
You also might want to download the Plex for Windows APP to direct play instead of transcoding.
I only use the Apple TV. I guess I could install it but I don’t see why. It It related to the Live TV? Thank you for the help
The DS414 will function as a DVR, but it doesn’t have enough CPU power for Live TV unless the client supports MPEG2 and subtitles (CC) are disabled. AFAIK the Apple TV’s don’t support mpeg2.
I made some progress but I still can’t a solution. Found out several things. 1) My HDHomerun still works with my iPhone. and my iPad/iPhone I was watching it on my iPad. They both work with my HDHomerun. Next I tested my Apple TV with VLC and HDHomerun and it worked fine so it looks like. But live tv still doesn’t work. Some times it records but i still can’t play it back. So I conclude that I have my Diskstation misconfigured. But I thought it would show up in the logs? I still don’t know how to fix it.
The Plex client does not have the MPEG2 codec like VLC or Infuse does so the only way to “FIX” this would be to upgrade the Diskstation CPU to one with a Passmark of 4000 or a GPU.
Thank you for this. It’s bad news but at least now I know
Hi,
I’m having the same issue on my DS218+. I’ve set up the live TV with a Xteve docker with m3u playlist and xmltv. I can launch a channel ok but after 20-30s it systematically shuts down and says “your live tv has ended”.
It’s not a power problem because I’ve tested it on a more powerful workstation (CPU AMD 2600x and Geforce GTI 750i) with same results. I’ve however tested the xteve links with VLC and it works with no problems.
Here is my version of Plex : 1.19.1.2621
