Live TV Error

Server Version#: v1.16.3.1402-22929c8a2
Player Version#:

I just set up an HDHomeRun Quatro tuner and am able to watch channels using the HDHomeRun app. However, I am unable to get Plex to work. The guide is up and running but when I try to watch live tv it throws an error. I’ve attached the server logs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking through the logs I see the following error. Does this shed any light on my issue?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Tuner\Private\devices\dvb\file\drv_file.ini does not exist

Update: The errors coming back are inconsistent (I removed the original error code from the description). I have gotten all of the following errors when trying to watch live tv.

  • s1001 (Network)
  • s7000 (Player)
  • Could Not tune channel (No activity)
  • This live TV session has ended

Update 2: I think I have it figured out. I am using StableBit DrivePool to pool all my drives into one. I had the transcode folder set up on the pooled drive and once I moved it off to a physical dive live tv started working.

How do you change the location of the transcode folder? I have this same issue every single time I attempt to upgrade my plex server or if and when the hosting PC restarts due to power outage of restarts needed for upgrades. To fix the issue I have uninstall plex, and delete all of its programs files. Then reinstall with the latest version and re-configure from start. Major pain in the …

  1. Log in as an admin
  2. Click on the Transcoder menu on the left
  3. Make sure you are showing advanced settings
  4. Set the “Transcoder temporary directory” to a new location
  5. Save changes

Awesome. In our case, we have Plex and all its goodies on an external drive. Setting the Transcoder Temp directory worked for us, too. Thank you for your guidance!

Durp, celebrated too quickly. :disappointed: Still happens but now it seems like it takes a little longer. Essentially experiencing a circle of doom on a live college game after it plays for a few minutes. Will search further.
