Transcoding error with Live TV, remote playback, & DVR

I have been having a problem for the past three or four days using live TV on IOS devices, recording any shows using DVR, or transcoding any shows for remote playback.

I have PMS installed on Windows 10 on an AMD FX-8320 (Eight Core) with 16 GB Ram. I use HDHomerun Prime for my live TV.

I have used the HDHomerun Prime with PLEX for about a month for LiveTV and for DVR without any issues.

Now - every time I attempt to DVR I get: “There was a Transcoder error”, also, when I attempt to watch live TV from an IOS device I get: “Playback was terminated by the server. Conversion failed. The transcoder crashed or failed to start up.” – I get the same error when I attempt to view content remotely from an IOS device.

After researching the problem, I have done the following to no avail:

  1. re-installed server
  2. rolled-back server to a known-good version
  3. Deleted library and re-added

I am now back on Version 1.8.3.4235 (updated today). Can anyone assist?

Fixed it by deleting all files in the plex application data folder. (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server)

you deleted everything? all the subfolders like metadata,etc.

Yes, there were some things that it wouldn’t allow me to delete, but I deleted everything I could.

Are you using 1.83 still too?
