Live TV Freezes only on Firestick

Recently got a Firestick (less than a week old). Had a Roku with no issues, just wanted some apps the Roku didn’t have. Live TV randomly freezes on the Firestick, to get it back you have to go to another channel, then back to the original channel.

I saw posts that were over a year old suggesting to disable the “new video player”. So far that seems to make it work, but unfortunately gets rid of some good features.

Is this a known issue? Will there be a fix? Seems like there are enough posts about it.

I have the same issue on Amazon Firestick.
Unraid Server: Version 1.20.3.3483
Fire OS: 6.2.7.6
Plex Firestick: 8.7.3.21018
HDHomeRun: Model: HDHR5-4US, Firmware: 20200907
I’ve used Firesticks for years now, and had to turn off “New Video Player”, which I agree with @E_Weezy_Peezy that the features are nice to have on. I’ve been putting up with this by simply watching live TV on Hulu instead of Plex, but I really prefer Plex. There must be an issue with the Firestick app. Please fix this.
