I have the DVR set up. I can see all the listings and what is “on right now”. I can schedule and record shows using my 955q. However, I don’t have a play button on shows that are “on right now”. I can’t watch any live tv no matter which show or channel I select. See screenshot. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
Live TV is not supported in the web browser at this time. Only iOS and Android TV from what I understand.
i have an android tv box (mibox3) with plex updated as of May 30, 2017. Don’t know how to watch live tv. Can’t find the feature anywhere. I installed the latest plex server update today (june 3rd) and am at a loss.
Thanks John. You know, I saw that but assumed it meant in addition to the browser interface. Thanks for pointing it out to me!
Came here to ask the same question. I assume that browser support and other devices (i.e. Samsung App) are coming soon?
@gsnassif That isn’t actually a Android TV device. The Mi Box that’s sold by Walmart in America is the only actual Android TV device. The device you have is a Android Phone OS device slightly modified to work for TV’s, but falsely advertised as a ‘Android TV’ device.
Yes, we are actively working on supporting other clients.
So, this is crazy that you can’t view live TV in the webapp, and you can’t change your recordings on the devices you CAN watch live TV? WTF?
Also, I’m assuming you CAN watch previously recorded shows via the web browser? If so - all devices?
Yes you can schedule and modify/cancel recordings on IOS and Android TV.
You can watch DVR recordings on every platform we support now, since it uses Plex’s normal playback methods and shows up in your Library like any other piece of media.
@keithah ,
Got it! Looking forward to it!
One more question -
How do you change the naming convention PMS DVR uses to name a recorded episode?
@“seanvree@hotmail.com” Why would you want to change the naming convention? It follows the Plex naming style, so that it can be matched to IMDB/TMDB/TVDB and metadata can be retrieved when it’s added to your library.
I was talking about the official android tv device (the mibox3…purchased at Walmart), not an off brand android kodi box.
