I am recording TV on a Plex server running on an i7 Windows 10 Home machine. I am able to watch Live TV without issues, but all of the HD recordings jump every few seconds and / or have audio / video mismatches. The SD recording came out fine. I have viewed the TS files in other media players with the same result, so the issue is with the actual recording to the file.
I have use Windows MCE without issues in the past with this setup under Windows 8. I would like to use Plex if possible.
I have more information - I was recording the shows directly to my shared disk. I have two spinning disks (WD Red) that are mirrored using Microsoft Windows Storage Spaces. I just recorded another HD show to my C: drive, which is a Samsung SSD hard drive. The recording appears to have worked.
I will be testing more in the next few days, but wanted to get the word out in case others have this issue. I did not find other answers online or in this forum.
Final Update - I have been recording Live TV now for several months with no issues on the recordings. The recordings have been made using two different TV Tuners (Internal PCI and HD Homerun).
The lesson?
Either Storage Spaces or WD Red Hard Disks are the issue. If you run into recording issues in either of these situations, try recording to a different disk. It worked for me.
