Hello, I’ve tried searching this question, but get very unclear results. Trying to post a clear question in the hopes of getting a clear answer.
I use Apple TV and the legacy video player, as the mpv player doesn’t cooperate well with Airplay and other Apple TV features. When watching 1080i broadcasts, the deinterlacing method on the Plex transcode is not deinterlacing to 60fps. The temporal frames are being tossed and I’m only getting a jumpy 30 fps. This makes those broadcasts, especially sports, look very bad. Are there any settings that can be changed to allow a proper deinterlace? Something as simple as yadif=1 with ffmpeg would do the job. I develop software for Linux everyday and am not afraid of editing config files for hidden settings, etc if needed.
