Is it using the transcoder cache on the server or the memory of the client device?
I’d also like to know this. It would be nice if it were a preference in the server settings.
Bump… I was testing the timeshifting last night and couldn’t find where it was placing the cached file. It would be really nice if we could get an update on where this is being stored. It would be even better if we had an option to control where we want it stored…
Should be wherever you have your Plex application data location set to in the Server settings. On my computer it is: ‘D:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Cache\Transcode’

Ok… So based on this it’s stored on the server.
