Received email today (6/1/2017) from Plex stating that I can now watch live TV. I updated to latest available version (1.7.2.3878) and I still don’t see how to watch live TV. I go to the Program Guide and the only option I get is to record. How do I watch live TV?

Have you reviewed the FAQ for live TV, or reviewed the other threads about the new live TV function? Lots of information around that should help you.

I was looking in the right place in the Plex interface. Just looked at the FAQ and it states that it is only supported on Android TV and IOS. So basically not really implemented for any of the devices that I use (including a web browser).

im happy that this has been announced but do we have any timeframe of when other devices will be supported? Specifically amazon fire tv?

No. Plex does not reveal timelines.
