LiveTV and DVR not available in Fire TV app

I am not holding my breath for an answer from Plex on this. I have seen many older forum posts of the same issue, but what the heck I might as well beat my head.

I just recently setup my cord cutter OTA DVR setup. Almost everything works fine except this one issue.

I have the Toshiba 43 inch Android Fire TV with Fire OS 6.2.5.8. PMS is running on a QNAP TS-251+ and seems to be doing just fine.

The Plex app versions are listed above. Live TV and DVR is working just fine on my Windows and Android clients. It is not available in the AFTV app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times as that seems to have fixed some users in the past.

Are there any other suggestions on things to try? Does Plex have any sort of release schedule for when we can expect an updated app for the AFTV?

I wonder if that’s the problem (and/or the OS level which I’m not sure what’s required for Live TV / DVR support).

Live TV / DVR is certainly supported in the external Fire TV products.

How very strange. I checked the app this morning on a whim and it now has the proper options. I will have to continue to monitor it for misbehavior.
