I’ve been seeing small skips and glitchy looking picture every 5-10 seconds when viewing live TV and on recordings through Plex.
I’m recording onto an Nvidia Shield, on a 2TB usb3 HDD set up as external storage on the shield, using an HDHomerun Connect Duo.
With my antenna (Clearstream 2v) going directly to a TV, the signal is perfect. The HDHomeRun app on my PC is perfect. The Channels app on the Shield viewing content from the HDHR is perfect. It is ONLY plex that has issues.
Can I get any response? I’ve tried multiple setups and this is definitely a Plex issue, as I have no issues with the HDHR app or the channels app. I paid for PlexPass not expecting it to reduce the quality of Live TV. Please help.
Based on what I’ve read, I have HDHR tanscode profile set to none, all DLNA formats advertised, the Plex transcoder setting set for Highest Quality. The dashboard still says the stream is being transcoded to H.264 when watching live TV and my guess is the nvidia shield can’t keep up with that, but I don’t get why it needs to transcode at all, that’s the reason I traded up to the HDHR extend, so it would transcode and the shield wouldn’t have to.
