Well, after almost 3 weeks of “Playback Errors” on my Server to all my devices on the Local Network and over the internet, I’m getting to a stage where I’m beginning to lose hope on Plex altogether, even though I’ve been running it for over 4 years now, but there’s been no help or assistance from any of the “Team”. If this was a UK phone call, it would be “We’re sorry to keep you waiting, all our advisors are either on the toilet, having a smoke, or just couldn’t care less as we’ve got your money”
I’m uploading 3 days worth of logs in hope that someone in the, loosely named “Team” gets off the Toilet or puts the cigarette out, and actually tells me what my issue is… Sorry did I say 3 days of logs? I should’ve said 4!!
LiveTV is one of the reasons along with my vast library of films and TV Shows I use Plex, but I’m beginning to lose patience!!
Right, let me try and explain what the issue is without me going off to a different route.
Each time we watch a channel while PlexDVR finishes a recording it trips both Tuners in one of the 3 WinTV DuoHD’s and creates a “Playback Error” on the machine watching the channel. The best log to see this on is yesterdays as I was recording Channnel 207 while watching Channel 231, and after it finished recording it shut both receivers down on the one USB Device, please tell me that this should not happen?
It’s basically driving the entire family around the twist, and would like an explanation to why when a recording is finished, while watching a channel using one USB device it would shut both receivers down and not just one.
I’ve also witnessed it happen when someone watching one channel and my 3 year old son is watching channel 207 when the other person either changes channel or stops the channel it will create a “Playback Error” on the channel my son is watching.

Since writing the last post November 1st, I have found the issue, it’s a Write Error that makes the USB Device kick the active user off the system after a recording has finished or another user on the server changes or stops their channel… No wait, it happens even without a second user on the server… My 3 year old son has just shouted “Oh No Daddy!! Not 'gain!” and this is within 25 mins of starting up the Live TV.
It now seems my Plex system is being rendered useless, by a bug that Team Members failed to see in my logs, but myself being a registered blind Linux User found using the screen reader and going through the logs… I swear all I heard in my sleep last night was the log files being read out in my head!!
I wonder if I’m the only one having this issue or are others having it and not saying on the forums??
