I’ve had an issue with myself and my remote users running Plex through the browser for a while, especially dropping out on Live TV to “Playback Error” quite a lot in PMP for Linux. But I’ve reverted back to Chrome as the Playback Error doesn’t happen, but it does cause another issue.
Using Chrome or Firefox on Plex Web Client after a while on just one Tuner stops other users from tuning into one of the free Tuners and Plex comes up with Playback Error once again on these devices, including PMP for Android and Roku also.
In my eyes it’s the Transcoder, and this issue for me has been around for the foreseeable past and right up to the latest version of PMS.
I run 3xHauppage WinTV DuoHD Tuners and have 5 users on my server. The only way I’ve found that fixes this issue so far is rebooting PMS and it opens all the Tuners back up.
I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or is having this issue also, maybe not with the same TV Tuners where after a certain amount of time PMS either seems to shut down the tuners that aren’t active or the Transcoder just goes into a state of shock and doesn’t allow any others to tune in at all.
This issue doesn’t affect the Movies or any other video files I have on my HDD’s, it’s just on Live TV.
I do hope someone else has had a similar issue? Maybe we can work to find out what is causing this?
