I moved my PMS to a a different PC than my Mac running PlexConnect. When I try and play a movie it times out and I get an error. If I repeat my attempt to play the same movie it works fine. Somewhere I read about a setting that will allow the movie to attempt to load longer but I can't find the post. Is there still a setting that can be extended?
Never mind, I found it.
Edit PlexAPI.py and look for the 3rd occurrence of the timeout word (where it says timeout=20).
Sounds like your files are on drives that are spinning down on you, but glad to see you found the timeout line, I was going to suggest that.
