When reviewing the “Manage Library Access” a list of usernames are given as Friends with Library Access. The username isn’t always clear for who the person is and can be changed by the person. It would be helpful if a local alias could be created for a friendly name that is displayed. That way if the person changes their username the alias will remain and permission grants can be updated appropriately when necessary.
For example, I added a library that should only be shared with immediate family. If I had aliases for the list of friends it would be easy to update accounts directly. Currently I have a file that lists the username and who it belongs to but that fails if someone changes their username.
There’s already an existing suggestion discussing that option. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
