Local season posters work for all seasons, but no matter how I name them I can’t get Plex to recognize a poster for in a Season 00 or Specials folder. I’ve included the server and player versions, but I’ve had the same issue for several years, so it’s probably not important.
Names I’ve tried to use, that work for all other seasons:
- season 00.jpg
- season-00.jpg
- specials.jpg
I’ve even tried embedding an image in the MKV or MP4 as a “cover” image, although I suspected that wouldn’t work, anyway.
I have local media assets agent enabled and at the top for TV shows, followed by the TVDB and The Movie Database. I strip all of the junk metadata out before I add files, so I’ve never been concerned about the order.
The seasons folder does, however, recognize local images for individual episodes properly.
It doesn’t seem to matter if I name the folder “Specials” or “Season 00” - I’ve tried both and Plex Danced them numerous times with the same results.
The work-around is to just edit the season manually, and all is good, and no big deal.
Is there another name I should be using for images in the “specials” folder?
But, I haven’t really re-checked it for some time, because the old support guidelines didn’t work. I guess I just gave up, and edited each time when I realized my posters didn’t show up.
