Hi I need help with my libary I can’t seem to get my TV shows working with local media assets its working with the TV show fanart and the TV show poster but not the individual season posters. I’ve tried everything naming the season poster

Wrong file names:

More specifically.

The entire series (main series poster and seasons)

Place in the root of the series.

Show.jpg

Seasons

Can be in the root of the series or in the individual season folders.

Season-01-Poster.jpg
Season-02-Poster.jpg
Season-03-Poster.jpg
etc..

Seasons (Specials or Season 00)

Can be in the root of the series or in the individual season folder.

Season-Specials-Poster.jpg

Be sure you do a refresh metadata after correcting the poster names(simply doing update library will not do)

Though I have noticed that plex will not use any custom poster artwork if the series is not yet matched… So be sure the series is matched.

Is there any any custom names to the season folders

No, If I’m understanding you right
There can only be two folders(Season XX and Specials or Season 00)
You can can however add more informational stuff to season folders. Like for example
American Horror Story (2011)

  Season 01 [Murder House]
  Season 02 [Asylum]
  Season 03 [Coven]
  Season 04 [Freak Show]
  Season 05 [Hotel]
  Season 06 [Roanoke]
  Season 07 [Cult]
  Season 08 [Apocalypse]

I’ve done that and it’s still not working this so frustrating

You did Refresh Metadata, right?

The docu says to use

 Season01.jpg

With my LMA at the bottom of the active agents installing a Season01.jpg file and refreshing metadata doesn’t automatically replace the stock image obtained through a match, but it is available as a Season Poster to select in the Edit Window.

I guess it does…

I remember asking about this very thing… I guess it got changed over the years…

yes i refreshed the meta data and still nothing.

I’m also getting it up in the edit window but it always selects the second one when the first is my custom artwork.

That has always been my experience, but I’ve always had LMA demoted so thought that might be the reason.

That’s good, Plex sees the custom artwork.

Though, I have not had much success in having LMA on the bottom when it comes to using my own art work.

Try and move you Local Media Assets
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200241558-agents/#toc-1
Do this for both movies and shows.

Refresh Metadata afterwards.

Tried that and still nothing. Just so you can understand what I mean I can’t always explain properly lol

Also fegot to say aswell I’ve also tried to add subtitles to auto be on the file I need and even that’s not working

Dang… Incomplete…
Move them at the top of them all. Then refresh metadata on the entire series.

Tried that and still nothing I’m starting to think that it is shield problem as my server is the nvidia shield

Okay… I don’t like this… This should be working… Maybe you’re right and this is a SHIELD thing… I did all my test on Windows PMS and have no issue with the custom posters.

I’ve tried
Season01.jpg & Season-01-Poster.jpg, in the root of the series, and in their respective season folders. It all comes back the same, all fine.

Unfortunately I don’t think I can provide much more help here as I don’t have a SHIELD to test. Sorry. Best of luck!!

I noticed just now that you appear to have a space character between season and episode code in your file names. Don’t.

Also: at which folder did you point this library?
Did you create a totally separate library for these tests?
