Local server limited to remote quality?

Plex Media Server Logs_2019-03-08_13-15-14.zip (6.7 MB)

here are the server logs after a fresh reboot and no scans being done. the server is back to transcoding everything again. nothing has changed settings wise just a few server reboots. no updates to server OS or changes to router settings. hope you can figure out whats causing it because i have no idea

There are some limitations being applied.

  1. Video width: 1920 (source) > 720 (on the device) - Seems like an odd size but ok.

This is telling me that either a) the application or b) your local LAN configuration or topography is such that there is no “Direct” path on the same subnet.

Your networking shows the same subnet addressing 192.168.1.x which is consistent with a class C. What is the subnet mask? 255.255.255.0 or /24 which confirms as a class C

What about the player? What is its ethernet configuration ?

Lastly, again I ask… Firewall?

Firewall is pfsense.

After that stream I rebooted again and got a direct stream. My network is all wired with a single Cisco switch. All on the 192.168.1.x addressing. I can send you the new logs if you would like? Seems to be weird intermediate issue now. Still getting the streams outside of the network with plex telling me it doesn’t have access to the internet.
