Lock on Title doesn't work

Server Version#: 4.22.3
Player Version#:??
Lots of topics concerning the LOCK on the file name.
Was this ever fixed, because it doesn’t work.
Everytime the library is updated the title name reverts to what Plex decides regardless of the lock

What is the name plex decides to use?
Are LMA enabled?
Does the file have embedded information?

To expand a bit on @NewPlaza 's points:

What usually happens is after an edit and the next scan plex sees that embedded title doesn’t match, re-matches, and blows your edits. This can also be the result of horrible file naming and structuring, but for now we’ll blame LMA.

Well … we can take a movie for example.
Amundsen is the title of the movie.
It is in MKV format so of course info is embedded inside.
The movie is bilingual (with 2 audios) and I changed the sort title with the french title.
After scanning the library … the sort title is in French but the title is Amundsen

…and LMA is bottomed everywhere

Silly question but you did change AND/OR lock the title field, right?

You don’t have to actually edit a field to lock it. Simply click the ‘pad lock’ to the left of the field.

Of course … the lock on the title field is locked … it does automatically the moment you edit it

Can you provide the XML info?

Sure I can provide the XML info … but how is that going to help me or you?
All info inside the *.mkv file is there and obviously will not be modified.
The problem here is that the padlock on the title field will not lock. Isn’t that what it’s supposed to do?

Thank you

Okay…
Your movie is not matched to an online source. Plex doesn’t LOCK titles from items that aren’t matched yet. Well, it can but it’s not the best cause the battle of trying to match online.

I’m having this problem too. What I find is it’s any title that not matched, any title that’s not on “The Movie Database” website. Oddly, this only happens with movies and not TV shows. Also, the date field does that same thing as the title but all other fields will remained locked.
