Now I’ve encountered a crash-and-close loop that I can’t get out of. I logged in and stayed logged in (great) and started exploring things when I tried to change my server to my friend’s server. I quickly see Loading… connect to ‘his server name’ and then the app closes. His server seems fairly ne in Plex and MrMc. I can’t change back to my server. The crash and close loop is too fast to get into settings to change the server back to my own. I tried a hard exit of the app. Any other ideas?
One issue I noticed before crashing was that the title of Extras disappears when it’s selected ( in focus).
I reverted back to the previous version, went through the logging in and got back to my local server, then Catch starts and runs. Then I updated Catch again. If i select that off-site friends server, Catch crashes and closes and I have to do all that again. I can navigate around in my own server only.
Super strange, I don’t think I changed anything around that but I’ll take a look

At least the logging oout issue is gone, nice! I just tried to change to my friend’s server again but it still crashes to a close. I did notice that it didn’t crash until I left the Settings screen, going into any of his content. For a flash I can see his thumbnails then Catch closes. I can access his server from Plex and MrMc just fine, so I don’t think the issue is with his setup.
This might help (or confuse you more)… I did a Rollback to previous build (had to enter password again of course) and I changed to my friend’s server, and it crashed on that previous build also. Neither build lets me access his server now.
@itzme haha ok, I guess that’s better at least knowing it didn’t work in the previous version. Are both servers on the same PMS version?
And another possible hint. … now I’m noticing that for a second or 2 after it crashes I can see the top shelf and it has my friends servers content. Then after that second or so the shelf just shows the logo. Before I notice that I was never able to get the top shelf to reveal any content from my server, even briefly. So I’d venture to suggest that the code regarding the top shelf is causing my crash issue.
I know I updated my PMS a day or so ago. I really have no way to know what version my friend has. I only know I can connect to it in other client apps.
I just tried to access my friends server and it worked. Maybe he updated his PMS? The only thing I can’t get to work at s top shelf, which is only showing the Catch logo.
@itzme Aha! Ok I’ve figured out the source of the crashes, tbh I’m not sure why it stopped crashing for you, but I was finally able to get usable crashes from Testflight so I’ll be working on fixing that.
As for the top shelf issue, I do see a single crash related to that but I suspect there may be something else going on there so I’ll look into possible auth issues
Cool. No crashes for a week now and I can switch servers back and forth. Is there something I should try to get the top shelf to wor? to show posters? I still just get the Catch logo.
It’s a good app, could you fix 4k HDR support and add subtitles download like in infuse app. Thanks
Have you thought about using VLCkit instead of the native player? That would allow direct play for many formats, and your App has a huge advantage over the official Plex app. (If you check the Apple TV forums you’ll see that’s something people really crave for.)
I love the app but all my user don’t appear on the screen so I have to guess when I am on the ones at the far left & far right

How many users do you have? I have to admit I hadn’t considered this, I’ll update it to account for it!

I took a brief look at VLCKit, it seems like something that should be feasible so I’ll see what I can do as long as there aren’t any licensing issues.
