Lost Access to PMS on Synology NAS With No Changes; Worked Yesterday, Not Today

Server Version#: 1.41.7.9795-72009795
Player Version#: 4.147.0
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Had no problems watching content on my server yesterday but it is not accessible through PMS today on my Synology NAS. I made absolutely no changes to my NAS or anything else.

Direct URL times out. http://192.168.68.101:32400/web brings up this error:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

Response code=“503” title=“Maintenance” status=“Plex Media Server is currently running database migrations.”

All I have done is stop and restart PMS, which says it is running and reboot my NAS to no effect. I changed no other settings.

503 is a maintenance code. It’s not an error. It’s a notification. The descriptive text is telling you that PMS is running a database upgrade.

The only time these occur is when the software (PMS package) is changed.

That said, When did you update the server last ?

A week ago. I have made no changes from the time I was last successful watching content and today. There is no reason it should be running a database migration because I have not updated anything on the server (or added content) for several days.

I just got a notification from my NAS indicating I had run out of disk space. My Plex database reached 3.5 TERABYTES. Total insanity.

So that appears to be the issue with me. I suspect other people who may be having PMS issues might have database issues behind it.

Oh DAMN!

Time for some radical steps.

I will reach out in PM.

3.5 TB? :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:
