Lost added metadata after move to new Mac

Server Version#: 1.24.4.5081
Player Version#:

I just followed the steps to move my Plex server onto a new Mac (the older server version was necessary to run in on the old Mic Mini). I got to the step “Edit Libraries”, and despite having copied the proper Plex files and the plist file, there were no libraries to be found.

So I started rebuilding said libraries. Unfortunately, this means all the metadata I added is gone (things like special titles for TV show and Movie extras, user sharing and restrictions, sorting info for photo libraries, etc). Before I go through the laborious process to manually re-add all this info, what did I do wrong? I used this guide from Plex and followed it to the letter.

Did you go through all the steps and stop the server while performing them?

Yes, I stopped the server and followed the steps until I got to Edit Libraries–and there were none to edit. So I had to create them instead.

What’s strange is that the user list and settings like a restriction on one of the users came over fine. However, the restriction filter didn’t show up on the media involved.
