I recently had an hard drive fail and thus lost all my music that was stored there. My plex server still shows all the music, but cannot play any of it of course. However my synced devices are still working so my question is if it is possible to restore the data back to the server somehow. I have the data on my Android phone, but cannot find the files anywhere and there don’t seem to be any function built in Plex for restoring.
Restoring from mobile devices to the server is not available - intentionally.
The files should be somewhere like this: (at least they are there on my phone)
AndroidDevice\SD-Card\Android\data\com.plexapp.android\files\media_parts
However, they will have cryptical file names and no embedded metadata.
Every track is in its own folder.
It won’t be easy (or almost impossible) to restore those tracks to their original state, so you can add them into Plex.
