I have an original TV series purchased on DVD, on the back it states that there is only 25 minutes of ‘surviving’ material for the first season - It turns out to be S01E06.
So my question is; is there a way to tell Plex that S01E06 is the only episode available for season one and that for the rest of the season it should show tiles or something with ‘missing or lost’ episodes?
Plex does not support displaying items that don’t actually exist.
As kind of a “life hack” you could create some fake files (e.g. a text file named Show Name - s01e01.mp4…) and add a local thumb/poster for that “episode” (make your own that states “episode lost”)
Find a small file and name it every episode you don’t have - drop all them in with the others.
Then hand edit each one you don’t have so it’s Title indicates you need it.
or - if it’s something you might find on TV - get an antenna, a network tuner, put the episode you have in a DVR Library and one of these days Plex may fill in your gaps for you.
If this is about Doctor Who… according to another user there seem to be animated versions from fans for those (some of those?) missing/lost episodes. If that’s the show you’re talking about… maybe the user can point you in the right direction
No, it’s not about Dr Who. It’s about The Morecambe & Wise Show. I bought the complete BBC box set and it states on the back that only one episode of the entire first season was rescued. The rest of season one is now history.
Interestingly, there were two more episodes found on some old reels in an abandoned cinema in Sierra Leone, Africa! I’ve been searching everywhere to see if I can buy/download/watch these two extra episodes. It would be great to add them to the collection.
