What is up with a play list or whatever on my plex home page called “Love is in the Air” with seemingly appropriate movies?
Why is it there?
How do I stop future things like this from appearing?
Here you go… this is linked to the seasonal movies hub
Had the same question after my wife spotted this new junk on her home screen. Turns out it seems to be some feature Plex included to show you seasonally-themed recommendations, which apparently has been triggered by the approach of Valentines Day.
Fortunately there is a way to get rid of it. (The following is based on using the web client on a PC - not sure how it would work in other configurations). If you go into “Settings” (i.e., click the wrench in the upper right) and then click on “Libraries” (under the word “Manage”) on the list on the left, it will bring up a list of your libraries on the right. Mouse over the movie library(ies) and click on “Manage Recommendations” - you should then see a dropdown list with several entries, near the end of which is something called “Seasonal Movies”. If you clear/untick each of the three boxes on that line, this “Love is in the Air” nonsense should disappear from your home pages.
As one of the many Plex users who only uses Plex for managing their own content, I really wish Plex would give us a simple, global way to turn off all this recommendation crap entirely. It’s bad enough that I have to go back and change all my pinned sources to show my Library after they default it to showing Recommendations with every server update, but then they sneak stuff like this in on us. I don’t mind them adding junk like this that presumably appeals to some users - I just wish they wouldn’t force us other users to deal with this nonsense.
I see that another response came in while I was venting.
Thank you for your assistance.
