Of course, I know. But it’s a significant time investment to create all those files. Preferably not manually, but using some tool that you have to find and research first.
Another idea- Plexamp sense user activity on device and if it’s idle with music playing or screensaver, then turn off lyrics.
Based on my experience, as well as the experience of most users, the actual situation is not as you described. Even if we have local lyrics, the Plex app still automatically turns off the lyrics when switching songs. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many people reporting this issue.
As shown in the GIF, all three of these songs have local lyrics. The latter two only have local lyrics, but when playing the next track, the lyrics are automatically turned off. The default lyrics for these three songs are local, but every time I switch songs or the next track plays automatically, the lyrics are turned off, and I have to manually turn them on.
This issue occurs in Plex for Mac (and other Plex app), not Plexamp. Plexamp doesn’t have this issue. The problem discussed in this thread seems to be related to the entire Plex platform, rather than being limited to a specific app. I know Plexamp can continuously display lyrics, but other Plex apps currently don’t support this.
I sometime like to play song while reading their lyrics but i do have to keep screen on which drain battery and/or i have to keep clinking screen every x seconds.
I wonder if it would be possible to show them full screen and maybe with some kind of always on screen or some dark background with text that would keep the screen so it won’t relock
if the local library has the .lrc file sidecar for the track, is it really an issue to display it? plex control plane doesn’t have to make a call to the upstream lyrics provider.
