Lyrics not displaying on Roku devices

Server Version#: 1.32.0.6973

Player Version#: roku version 7.1 build 1

Lyric text is not shown or only partially shown. This happens for sidecar lyrics and lyric find lyrics. It looks like the lyrics load, but the text can’t be seen. Lyrics work fine on my iOS Plexamp, at the windows server and on my Nvidia shield.

I am using a windows 11 pc as my server. Please see attached pictures.
Thanks!

My server is on Linux Mint, and I’m seeing the same thing on my Roku.

Plex Roku version: 7.1.1.8323
Plex Server version: 1.32.1.6983

Having the exact same issue for the past several days on my TCL TV. You can even see the cursor move to match synched lyrics, but no lyrics appear (except the occasional very long line). Windows 11 server here, as well.

Latest update PUBLIC PMS Version Available - 1.32.1.6999-91e1e2e2c did not address this issue. What steps must I take?

I flagged the thread to make sure they saw it. Not much to do but keep it alive and hope.

I am having the same issue. The lyrics seem to load but cannot be seen. Is there any reply to this. Is there a better tool that Roku? The product on Roku seems to be steadily degrading. over the past two years.

While it has not had many updates recently, the Plex app on my Nvidia shield works fine. As I reported, Roku, not so much.

I actually like the interface on the Roku better than the Shield, but not good when things just don’t work…

A fix for this is in the works. Should hopefully be out soon.

Thanks kindly for the heads up, BigWheel. We’ve been missing karaoke hour at our house!

Looks like this was fixed in the just released 7.3.0.

I can verify that Plex Preview Version 7.3 Build 0 DID in fact solve this problem for my Win11 system. Thank you to all who helped see this fix along.

Well, MOSTLY fixed. Now, on lines of lyric text that spill over into a second line, there’s overlap with the next line in the sequence. It’s much better, but still not quite like it was.

I am using PLEX with Roku and I can report more lyrics are showing up on the screen. We are still not getting all of the lyrics and it looked like they might have been out of order, but that is hard to determine with 100% accuracy when you cannot see every line. Thank you PLEX for advancing this issue to better. Please stay on this to a full completion. Lyrics really enhance enjoying new music and new music is what Tidal is all about. Mike

Can you post an example of what you mean by “out of order”?

Hello,
Thank you for asking. I noticed it on Kris Kristofferson, (Album) The Silver Tongued Devil and I, (song) “Loving Her Was Easier Than Anything I’ll Ever Do Again”. See the attached photo.
The first four lines you see are the first verse. The second verse is not shown here. Instead of being “in order” The chorus and third verse are inserted. After the third verse is the second verse.
Also, if I may, I also looked at the Beatles, A Hard Day’s Night. There are no lyrics for any song, but you can see it does contain blank lines that I am able to scroll through.
Thank you for looking into this. We love using Plex and this feature.
Mike

Hmm, I’m not seeing the overlapping or out-of-order lines with the 7.3 build. I intentionally created a lyric file with long lines. Each line wraps correctly, and the following line is not interfered with. Maybe it has something to do with the width of my TV, who knows?
