Lyrics not showing

Hi,

Previously, if I put a txt file with same file name as song, the Lyrics can be show while playing.
But don’t know from which version, the lyrics can not show anymore.

My current Plex version
Web: 2.10.10
Server: 1.3.3.3148

Anyone have this problem?
Or currently lyrics is only for Plex Pass?

Thanks.

By the way, this is my files, can not upload picture directly, sorry.

Have you disabled the ‘Local Media Assets’ agent under
Settings - Server - Agents - Albums - last.fm perhaps?
(I am assuming you are using last.fm as your music library’s primary metadata source. You can verifiy this by editing your library, then go to the ‘Advanced’ tab and take a look at the ‘Agent’ selection.)

Do also keep in mind that txt files which are added after the album was already in your Plex library, are only recognised after a Refresh of the album or artist.

I have this issue too since 1.3.3.I have a plex pass but the lyrics doesnt show. there is a mesage that there is a mistake loading the lyrics.

I’m getting the same error as markusvitz, “An error occurred loading these lyrics”. PMP 1.2.1 and PMS 1.3.3.3148. Lyricfind is enabled in agents. Was working fine before updating PMP and PMS.

[edit] Just downgraded PMP to 1.1.6 which was working fine before, getting the same error. I’ll try down grading PMS next.

hi OttoKerner,

Thanks for response.

I have checked my setting, I am using Local Media Asset.
I did not modify my setting for long time,
and there are 2 friends in this discussion encounter similar issue.

So maybe some software conflict causes this no lyrics problem.

You did not even tell me where your Plex server runs on.
If you suspect a software conflict, then you surely have already something in mind?
Have you Refreshed the album after adding the text files?

What do you mean “where”?
I can not show lyrics currently no matter I access my server through internet or intranet. And no lyrics on Plex web or ios app.

Well, actually no. I just know this happens after some updates of Plex server.
Have you Refreshed the album after adding the text files?
Yes, I do. And this works before. But now after refresh completed lyrics still not show.

Thanks for help.

Plex server runs on Windows, Linux, Apple and several NAS platforms.
Each of these has its own peculiarities which need to be considered.
Therefore the ‘server platform’ is crucial information for error diagnosis.

Hi OttoKerner,

Oh, I see.
I’m running my Plex Server on Windows 7.

I suspect a text encoding issue with the chinese song file names.
Restart your Plex Server.
Wait 2 minutes.
Refresh one album with lyrics
wait 1 minute
fetch log files and attach them here

Hi OttoKerner,

This is the log that I followed the steps you said.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3824086/plex_log.txt

(Sorry the attach function is not working on my PC / Mac Chrome browser)
And just replace the real IP with *

This is not the server logs.

is this what you need?
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3824086/Plex%20Media%20Server.log

or maybe you can tell me which you need?
Plex DLNA Server Neptune.log
Plex DLNA Server.log
Plex Media Scanner Analysis.log
Plex Media Scanner Chapter Thumbnails.log
Plex Media Scanner Deep Analysis.log
Plex Media Scanner.log

Yes, that is better. But does this log contain time stamps from when you refreshed the album? I suspect not.
Also, I would at least need one other log:
PMS Plugin Logs/com.plexapp.agents.localmedia.log
This too must contain the time stamps from when you refreshed the album.

Hi OttoKerner,

Here are the logs
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3824086/Plex%20Media%20Server.log
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3824086/com.plexapp.agents.localmedia.log

And this time I used an English album for test.
