Lyrics won't show up in lyrics menu on iOS Plexamp

I bought Plex premium, looking forward to using the lyrics feature but when I open the lyrics menu by tapping 3 dots, and then tapping “Show Lyrics”, it just opens a blank screen where, I assume lyrics should be displayed. I used WMP and MiniLyrics to create timed .lrc files, named them the same thing as the .flac song files, and rescanned/refreshed metadata for that album but the lyrics still won’t show up. I’d appreciate all help. thanks.
