Mac issue -- libraries no longer visible -- web app doesn't allow to add libraries "add media to your plex"

Hey! So I’ve been using plex on an imac using the app that opens up in a chrome browser since 2015 without any major issues (use it to organize movie files to stream to tv). Today my server isn’t working on the TV and troubleshooting brings me to the app, which doesnt show my libraries anymore.

So all the stock plex stuff is available (live TV, tidal movies and shows) but not my libraries. there is a my stuff button that brings me to a “you should install the plex app” page – details below–

Add your media to Plex
Organize, beautify, stream, and share your personal collection of movies, TV, music, and photos anywhere, on all your devices. To get started, download our free Plex Media Server software on the device where you store your media.

I follow the link, download the zip file with the app. The app icon brings me to the web browser app I’ve always used, but with the same page with the same message “add your media to plex” with a link to download the app.

I feel dumb, there has got to be something I’m blatantly overlooking but I cannot figure it out. Stuck in a loop downloading the app only brings me to the same web service I’m familiar with, which directs me to download the app again.

Browser is chrome.
