I recently moved my Plex media Server from a 2011 I7 2.7 dual core to a 2018 I7 3.2 6 cores
This is a giant leap in performance and I’m very happy with it.
Interface is amazingly fast and movies plays in a blink.
Transcodes from 4K DoVi to 240p (stress test) plays smoothly on remote user player.
I also own a MacBook Air M1 and I saw it is even faster in benchmarks in both single and muti core tests.
My question is will the MacBook deliver more performance and better experience on Plex?
Especially regarding the fact that it has no fan and its CPU is designed drop a little performance over time while used full throttle.
