macOS update SEEMS to have screwed up PMS settings

Last night i updated macOS, nothing out of the ordinary, and after restarting Plex no longer seemed to be able to connect to my server at app.plex.tv (or on my Apple TV or phone, etc), whereas if I connected to 127.0.0.1:32400 it works just fine. I have tried signing PMS out and reclaiming it, quitting PMS in between, deleting broswer cookies, signing out of plex app and signing back in, etc., but no matter what I do, i cannot make the public face of my PMS sync up with the server as it appears to myself directly. Really really irritated.

This problem seems to occur on updating to Monterey.

Things to try…

  1. Download and manually update Plex by adding it to applications

  2. Opening a browser with the following address.
    https://app.plex.tv/desktop/

  3. Make sure you have given permissions to Plex with your storage directories.

  1. Check that your drives where your storage directory/ Content names and path have not changed.

  2. If all fails a fresh install after nuking all of Plex.
