Make plex server stop removing "the" and "a" in front of names in sort by

Server Version#: Version 1.21.1.3876
Player Version#:

How so i stop plex server from removing “the” and “a” and maybe more, from titles of movies in the “sort by” field.

Its driving me insane, having to fix it my self every time i add a movie

If its called “a good day to die” - then its what it should be sorted by - not “good day…” - and so on with sooooo many movies starting with “the”

Help please

Never tried it. No idea if it works.

See ArticleStrings setting:

Thanks - maybe … seems a bit messy to deal with - but could end up being the way

Just seems very odd, that it removes A and THE when sorting - huge mess!

Seems a lot of people prefer the old school library way of removing the article in the title. I can understand the logic; however, I personally like to match it up to the directory structure in windows, hence I used the articlestrings registry edit.

I like it to match windows structure too! - but im lost on the strings - where to change to make only that happen

Those advanced settings are only accessible in the Windows Registry (as described in the support article linked above by FordGuy61; see Locating the Advanced, Hidden Settings).

Extract the .reg file from this archive and make a double click on it.
(Shut down Plex server beforehand)
(File removed)
This will only affect newly added items.
