Any way to disable this deature?
It does not?.
Because this is the best way, and often standard way, for sorting. You may not agree, but it would be best if you just accept it
An alternative is to edit the sorting title of each and every movie, but I guess you don’t want to do that.

You can disable it in the Advanced Hidden Server settings.
Available Preferences
ArticleStrings string comma-separated list of words considered to be grammatical articles that are removed in sort title the, das, der, a, an, el, la

Coxeroni - what works for one person is another person’s nightmare. Forcing one person’s opinion or habbits on to the next person is what has caused Micrsoft Windows to no longer be the most popular OS on the internet, the Windows phone into the grave etc. Changing any input from the user (file name, movie name etc.) is a very bad start. The user chose the product for a reason, and forcing the user to do something he/she didn’t ask for…baaad idea.
Wiidesire - thank you for your help, it worked just great
Inserting the “ArticleStrings” into the registry setting, with a douple of comma separated dummy words, it works just great

Now if any one knew how to make Plex NOT capitalize the first letter of many words…it would be perfect
Happy that you finally found your option, still I find stuff like this more of matter of adapting to a convention. Leaving the article out for sorting reasons might not be your preferred mode but it seems to be for most of the people or they don’t see a problem here. You can’t have an option or switch for everything. But ok, your problem is solved and everybody is happy
Coxeroni, most people don’t post in forums. Most don’t have to deal with a Plex server.
They just press play and if something is not working, or they cannot find a title, the uncle is called promptly.
If the producer(s) decided that their movie or show is called “The Blacklist” or “The Expanse”, we should refer and search for them that way.
But, I am always willing to learn new stuff. What convention are you talking about?
I would say the vast majority of categorization systems would list those as Blacklist, The and Expanse, The and you would find them under B and E respectively. Every library works this way for instance, otherwise could you imagine the number of books in the T section?
rwoffice, I don’t know about that.
Searching imdb.com for Blacklist, 1st result is The Blacklist and not Blacklist, The.
What I mean is if you’re going to categorize things by letter then The Blacklist goes under B:
B - Blacklist, The
If you went to the library to look for a book called The Blacklist it would be author sorted by Last, First and then alphabetically sorted by Blacklist, The. If you were looking in the T section you would never find it, because it’s under B.
Same goes for any type of database, which is all Plex is really.
I give up.
Good thing Plex gave the users the option to disable this behavior.
