I have free account. Under “Home & Library Access” i (as Home Admin) invited Friend with email, and we shared libraries both ways, and it’s remote. As a Home Admin i have no problems accessing Friends remote library.
Under “Home & Library Access” i created Managed Account, for my family to use locally at home, without any restriction, with everything allowed and every checkbox set. When they open Plex on any device, and use that account (PIN is not set), then they can see only local libraries, but don’t see Friends library.
Does it work as intended for free account, or i’m missing some permission settings?
How can i give access for my family members with Managed Account access to my Friends remote library? Only Home Admin can see Friends remote library.
P.S. As i understand, Managed Account for family is meant, so everyone have his own “already watched” movie, and so on.
That’s by design. Your friend shared with you, not your managed users – similarly you currently cannot share libraries with managed users (only with regular accounts).
There’s a feature suggestion to allow an option to share with an entire “Plex Home”.
This is not linked to having a Plex Pass or not.
However… if you have a Plex Pass, you can also invite regular accounts into your Plex Home. This gives you the option give your partner or other family members of your household their own regular accounts (instead of managed ones). They can then be “friends” with others and receive access to their libraries while you’re still able to invite them into your Plex Home (benefiting e.g. from fast user switching).
Simple and fast solution would be to delete all Managed Accounts, and just use my Home Admin account on every device locally at home. And everyone in family just ignore unfinished and already watched movies, and recommendations.

There is a similar thread below that looks like is getting pretty heated. None the less I would vote for “Managed” Home users to have access to shared materiel if the content owner agrees.
