Dear Plex Team,
You make a great product. I no longer use an iPod, because instead of having to cherry-pick 6000 songs from my 70000+ collection, I can just stream my entire music collection using your app.
However. I do have some questions/concerns/suggestions.
1. This is my biggest pet peeve: I have, in some cases, multiple copies of some albums. I have a CD rip, and a vinyl rip. I name these specifically - e.g. "Iron Maiden Live After Death (cd)" and "Iron Maiden Live After Death (vinyl)". And in any app I use - iTunes, Sonos, ES File Explorer - that is how they appear: as two separate entities. But in your app, they somehow do not - so in Plex they show up as one album, with the same tracks repeated twice. Why does that happen? It seems as though you're pulling album information from somewhere other than my actual library. Albums that you couldn't possibly have in a database (bootleg albums, etc) appear as I have them in my library. So it seems as though you check my library against your database, and if you find something that correlates to your library, you use that first, and if not, then you use the information from my library. That is INTENSELY aggravating. Can you tell me what the rationale is behind that?
2. I suspect this is related to the issue above, but I am unable to get Plex to use the music categorization that I give a band. E.G. in my library I have Nirvana listed as "Hard Rock", but your app continues to list them as "Grunge".
Again, I love your app, but I am seriously considering looking for an alternative because of this issue.
Thanks,
Erich
