I’ll preface this suggestion with the fact that I don’t use Plex as my primary podcast manager. So maybe I’m using in wrong.
There’s one feature in Plex that doesn’t get enough praise, and that’s the ability to search podcast episodes. It’s very easy to type in a name of someone you’re interested in to find podcast episodes they were on. I did that and found/downloaded 4 episodes of podcasts that I don’t subscribe to. I assumed they would be added to On Deck, but they were not. If I go into Downloads & Sync, I can see the episodes but there’s no link taking me to the page.
The only solution was to go into Offline Browsing, where I could see the downloaded episodes. Now it only shows “Recently Added Episodes” and “Start Listening.” And it even says add to home screen, exactly what I’m looking for. Except Recently Added won’t add to the Home Screen (Start Listening did, though it took 2 tries). I though another solution would be to make a playlist, but you can’t add podcast episodes to playlists.
Possible Suggestions:
- Add Recently Added Episodes/Start Listening to the Podcast online section
- Allow Podcast Episodes to be in a Playlist
- Link episodes in Downloads & Sync back to the content
