I’ve uploaded an album to the server. Plex scans and recognises the album, but it can’t be located after the scan. I can find the album by searching in Folder view, however the Artist & Album fields are blank. When I manually enter the metadata and Save Changes, it won’t save the data. I’ve tried creating a new folder on the server and dragging the album folder/files over, to no avail.
1st: you might want to upgrade your server. PMS 1.32.8.7639 was released in December 2023, which mskes it quite dated.
Try to re-add the album after upgrading the server.
If it‘s still not working, your server logs might show a clue of what’s going wrong.
Thank you. I’ve downloaded the server update - I can see it’s an APK file. How do I go about running this? My media is on an NTFS NAS drive mapped to a Windows laptop. Assume I need to run the APK file on the NAS drive and not the laptop?
That depends… where is your Plex Media Server running?
If it’s running on the NAS, you’ll need to upgrade the app using that apk file. Usually the „App Center“ of the NAS admin interface has some means to install (or upgrade) apps manually.
Detailed approach might vary depending on what NAS model you’re using (and the version of their operating system).
