I had no issues mapping my Plex drives on my main Gateway desktop running Windows 10 Home Pro. But on my Gateway desktop running Windows 10 ioT Enterprise LTSC, I get the error message when trying to log in. So, this tells me it has do to with this version of Windows. Is there an easy fix or should I just go ahead and install Windows Home Pro over the top, meaning an in place install.
Important to know: I had a hard drive failure on my main Gateway and had to buy a new hard drive and ended up installing a different version of Windows 10 than I originally had.
In my experience, Windows is just not reliable when it comes to storing access credentials for network file shares.
My workaround is to create a user account on the NAS, that uses the exact same user name and password as the Windows desktop.
This is particularly important if you’re running Plex server as a Windows system service.
