mark all movies as viewed

how to mark all movies as viewed?

plex for mac 0.9.11.16

in your movie library Shift+click on the first movie ( you will see it show a yellow outline when selected) then scroll all the way to the bottom and Shift+click on the last movie in list. ( all movies should be now selected )  click on the  circle with the check mark in it on the left side to mark all as watched

it marks only 10% as viewed or unveiled.

where is the problem?

huh? and your positive all 100% of items were selected and had the yellow border around them?  how many things are in your library?

all yellow and there are only 1024 movies in it.

What I experience with marking all as read is you need scroll slow down so you see all get yellow and the posters get loaded.

I have tried this (multiple times!). Only one time did it mark the movies as “watched” (actually, unmark as “unwatched”) AND that was just a handful out of HUNDREDS. ALL the other times it only ‘deselected’ the item by clicking on the yellow checkmark. This is an obvious failing on the part of Plex when multiple items have been selected - the logic being, what is applicable to multiple items? (seeing how options “…” is not active).
Just what I wanted, a program that creates work for me instead of making my life easy and organized.

I selected the first movie by clicking its circle, jumped down to the final 957th movie, and shift-clicked it. Then I clicked the Eye icon, clicked Mark Watched in the menu that dropped down, and it started marking movies as watched—not all at once, but each movie in title order until it finally marked the last movie was watched. The whole thing took maybe a minute or two (I was doing something else and it was done by the time a looked.)

(Running Plex as an OMV 4 plug-in on a Libre Renegade board, external HDD connected USB 3.0 contains both the media and the Plex database, no other clients connected.)

I can tick all my movies as described but can not locate the this “eye” icon that you describe to continue.

After selecting all videos as stated above, in the top upper right corner is a circle with a check mark in it. Select this and you will get the option to Mark as Played or as Unplayed.

So it’s not a “eye” icon but a circle with a tick inside, that now makes sense. Normally an “eye” icon means review a password.

Apparently it depends on what release you’re running. For me, it’s an eye like in the screenshot here…

Humorously enough, this image is from Plex’s own support page on the topic

Thanks for the explanation, good to know.

Cheers
